We also recognized Bisexual Health Awareness Month, focusing on the importance of addressing bi-phobia and bi shame that affect bisexual womxn in access to healthcare. Annual General Meeting.
Once again, we are excited to have held another Annual General Meeting, a time in a year, as an organization, we get an opportunity to reflect on the organization challenges, achievements as well, set new strategies for the future. We also utilized the AGM as a platform to exercise, accountability, however, it was also a time for the assembly to co-opt and approve new board members as a mandatory requirement, this strengthening governance, transparency and long-term success. we appreciated our board members for their seasoned commitment and work, we recognized the outstanding and inspiring member, this is always a culture to encourage and motivate womxn to involve in decision making and organization activities and programs. Zero Discrimination Day
1st March is always commemorated as Zero Discrimination Day, a day recognized annually in acknowledgment and promotion of equality, inclusion and compassion. However, this day was a reminder of the realities the systems. This year’s theme; ‘’We stand Together’’, in solidarity with the rest of the world, united together calling for action to uphold values free from discrimination based on Gender, identity, race, and sexual orientation to pave way and ensure an environment free from hate and Discrimination.
International Women’s Day. ‘Celebrating our Resilience and diversity’
As we continue to celebrate the Womxn March, we joined the rest of the women to recognize the International Women’s Day as a significant day appreciated within the womxn and women spheres. It is always a time to call for action for equal rights, opportunities and freedom of girls and women. Under this year’s theme, ‘For All Women and Girls; Rights, Equality, Empowerment’, marking the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and platform for Action, we convened a safe space that hosted womxn community members and stakeholders, deliberated on key issues in relation to the theme. Womxn engaged in powerful panel discussions, highlighting womxn participation, accessibility to mental health support and reassurance from health service providers on their commitment to continue providing SRHR services irrespective. As we also witness the global shifts, we explored what the future looks like ahead of the coming Ugandan elections for womxn, what is their role in political interest and participation in influencing decision making and policies that have long been a repression tool. Therefore, equipping womxn with tools, skills and knowledge is accelerating action towards women’s equality and empowerment. Womxn Leaders’ Virtual Support Circle; ‘Mental Check in and Updates on the Beijing+30 Platform and CSW69’
As womxn leaders continue to navigate the complexities of their work, its essential that they stay informed and supported. The virtual support circle for womxn leaders offered opportunity to discuss updates on the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and the Beijing+30 platform. It is was important for womxn leaders to familiarize themselves with CSW and Beijing +30 to ensure their meaningful participation hence ensuring that their issues are visible, addressed and prioritized within the global fight on gender equality and women’s rights. The virtual support circle also provided a safe space for womxn leaders to mentally check, offer emotional support and a space to discuss key issues, share best strategies and build a collective agenda for advancing personal and institutional growth and development.

Bisexual Health Awareness Month
The month of March is always a reminder to amplify voices, increase awareness and fight against the stigma and barriers that often hinder bisexual individuals from accessing proper healthcare. As we concluded the Bisexual Health Awareness Month, under the theme Navigating Bi Health in an uncertain world, let us reflect on the importance of fostering a world that embraces diversity, recognizes the unique heath needs and experiences of bi individuals, we also acknowledged the resilience and strength. We continue to create an inclusive, supportive and informed society where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, has the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life. The journey towards understanding and equity continues, and every step forward makes a difference.
